Grounded in community
We believe no one should lose their footing because of a single emergency. Rooted exists to catch neighbors in crisis before they fall through the cracks.
Our mission
Why we exist
Rooted exists to relieve the distress of individuals and families in the Treasure Valley of Idaho who are experiencing a financial, housing, medical, or personal emergency.
We organize community fundraising events and campaigns, and we use the funds raised to provide short term emergency assistance such as help with rent, utilities, food, transportation, medical costs, and temporary shelter. We also connect the people we serve with longer term community resources.
What we stand for
- Fairness. Every request is judged by the same written guidelines.
- Dignity. Personal details stay private and are never used in fundraising without permission.
- Accountability. Two board members approve every request, and funds go straight to the bill.
- Community. Help is funded by neighbors, for neighbors.

Our founding board
Rooted is led by a volunteer board of directors. Board members serve without pay.
