Help a neighbor stay rooted

Every gift goes into our shared crisis fund, helping Treasure Valley families keep a roof overhead, the lights on, and food on the table when life takes an unexpected turn.

Where your gift goes

What your support can do

  • $50 can go toward an overdue power or gas bill to help keep someone's lights and heat on.
  • $100 can put groceries on the table for a family for a few days.
  • $200 can help a family bridge an emergency rent payment.
  • $500 can cover our full utility assistance limit for one household.
  • $1,500 can cover our full rent assistance limit, helping keep a family in their home.

These examples show how gifts are used. All gifts go into one crisis fund, and actual help depends on each approved request.

Giving you can trust

Gifts go to one general crisis fund, and help is awarded using written, fair guidelines. Donors can't direct gifts to a specific person, which keeps the process fair for everyone. Assistance is paid directly to landlords, utilities, and providers, never as cash.

Rooted was founded in Boise in September 2026. We are incorporating as an Idaho nonprofit and applying to the IRS for 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. Until IRS approval is confirmed, please check with a tax advisor before claiming a gift as a deduction.
